  • These approaches use language much deeper into the search process before applying mathematical algorithms.

  • They are therefore limited compared to Needlebot‘s approach of immediately extracting the content of a document and creating a “mathematical fingerprint,” which can be more quickly and easily understood and manipulated by computers.
 
Hence, language-based solutions have made only modest incremental improvements in striving towards the next generation search technology capabilities.
